Christina Slade is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Literature Art and Media at the University of Sydney. She recently returned from the United Kingdom where she was Vice Chancellor of Bath Spa University and prior to that Dean at City, University of London. She held a chair of media theory at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands, was Dean of Humanities at Macquarie in Australia, and also taught in Mexico and at New York University. Her academic training was in philosophy of language and logic.
After working briefly as a journalist in the 1980s, she taught and did research on media. She has published on reasoning and media, on media and citizenship, and led a major European Union funded study of media use of Arabic speaking diaspora in Europe. More recently she has focused on globalization and the creative industries and the future of universities.
