At the age of 12 Ali was introduced to Scuba diving and her first experience was diving with white sharks off the coast of Mexico. She continued her scuba career and was able to intern at the Denver Aquarium being active in shark conservation and research. At the age of 18, Ali received her dive master certification and she continued to take scuba trips and work for the aquarium.
Ali traveled to Europe and Africa and eventually ended up in Australia studying marine science and geology and geophysics. She is also working at the Sea Life Aquarium. She assists with research on slime mold and oyster reefs at Sydney University. Her hope is to get a Master of Marine and Antarctic Science and study in Antarctica or travel for a year around the world. As long as Ali is learning and experiencing new things and cultures, she is happy.
