Why CampExperience™ Fall Retreat?

The CampExperience™ Network is a “Sisterhood By Choice” and those deep friendships begin and grow at the Fall Retreat weekend.  In our 13 years to date, we marvel at the deep conversations, the heartfelt support and the positive possibility energy that is ignited when 130 women come together for good.   Nothing at the Fall Camp Retreat is an accident!  Founder Betsy Wiersma joins with her sponsors and committee in a year-long process of curating every speaker and designing every experience.

You will know pure joy, see women share their personal stories of challenges and triumph, and will feel the power of taking action to help others.  This ACTION for good creates the FUN and bonds the Sisters, both at Camp and in the community.  These new “Sister Friends” are your new clients, your referrals to grow your business and a support system for your life. Accommodations at La Foret

Camp Sisters at the Fall Retreat will have a choice of two styles of accommodations:  Freestanding cabins or the Yurt Village.  Campers bring their own bedding of pillow, sheets, blankets or sleeping bags and towels to ensure they have exactly want they need.  All Camp Sisters must stay on the La Foret property and for safety and security issues, we ask that no one leave the property without contacting Camp staff.

La Foret Cabins feature out-front easy parking, a working fireplace and a front room for relaxing.  Rooms have 2 bunk beds in each room with a door that closes.  The rooms on each side of the cabin share a bathroom.  These are cozy cabins nestled in the woods yet just off the main walking path.  To help us to make the best assignments, Campers will choose no preference, upper or lower bunk, and will tell us about their sleeping habits and if they snore.  Cabin assignments will be available at Registration in Ponderosa Lodge at 10 am Friday, September 20.

The Yurt Village

If you love nature, you will LOVE the first-ever at Camp Yurt Village!  We have 5 wonderful yurts near a beautiful indoor bathhouse.  Each yurt has 6 bunk beds and Campers will sleep in the bottom and have the top bunk for her stuff. There are 6 wonderful yurts near a beautiful, shared indoor bathhouse.  The Village is a 5-10 minute stroll from the other cabins and meeting spaces, giving you a more Zen and remote experience. Each yurt will have 6 bunk beds and 6 Campers, giving each Camper one bed to sleep on and the other for her stuff.

Yurt Village Sisters can put together their own Yurt Group of 6!  Or to help us to make the best assignments, Campers will tell us about their sleeping habits and if they snore.  Yurt Village assignments will be available at Registration in Ponderosa Lodge at 10 am Friday, September 20.

To learn more about the special fun of the Yurt Village contact committee member Flossie O’Leary or call 720-308-0694.

Meals at the Dining Hall

The Fall CampExperience™ Retreat will feature home-cooked meals buffet-style!  Our CampCommittee will ensure the menus are tasty, healthy and have plenty of options to meet any food allergy.  Breakfast will be served on Saturday, September 21st and a light meal Sunday the 22nd.  Lunch will be both Friday the 20th and Saturday the 21st.  A final celebration brunch will be Sunday the 22nd.

Coffee, tea and water service will be available 24/7 at the Inglis Hall Assemblies, in the Ponderosa Lodge Bow-tique, and in the Carriage House craft room.  Complementary Babylonstoren wine and non-alcoholic selections will be at Happiness Hour receptions Friday and Saturday night as well as after-hours Ponderosa Hall.

Surprises and Very Special Gifts

The Fall Retreat is known for the quality of the speakers, the fun experiences we share and the GIFTS!  It is our philosophy that the Sisters who spend their lives giving…need a weekend to just relax and receive!  Sprinkled throughout the weekend, from arrival to departure, are one-of-a-kind gifts made just for you!  Expect to be surprised and delighted!

Do Good Have Fun; Camp Spirit In Action at the Fall Retreat

Our Camp spirit is in action before and during the Fall Retreat.  This year we are doing 1000 Acts of Peace and then delivering these bags for people experiencing homelessness in Colorado Springs with 1000 Steps of Peace.  These team activities will be a chance to get to know each other as we serve others.  Watch for ways you can add your time and talent to this project.  And expect to do a mini “pledge drive” for your 1000 steps.  It is our goal that every Sister raises $100 and brings it to Camp to fuel this Acts of Peace project and our other Charity Partners.  Our Acts of Peace project is internationally recognized by Peace Jam and will celebrate International Day of Peace September 21, 2019.

At Camp, there are many more fun ways to support Charity Partners.  Expect a wonderful live and silent auction, shopping the Charity Bow-tique and fun fundraising Saturday night.
